We have just completed our first Evo X power upgrade for an Evo X SST. The conversion consists of a Cat Back Exhaust System, HKS Racing Induction Kit and Ecutek re-map and for belt and bracers engine protection ARP Competition Con Rod Bolts. HKS Iridium Spark Plugs and an up-rated fuel pump complete the tuning package.
It is widely recognised that the SST Gearbox does have its limitations in standard form so while 380bhp was easily achieved with this cost effective package it was decided to limit the power to 358bhp and345 torques ( as Clarkson calls it! ) Further tuning which would require a de-cat and front pipe plus a Turbo Elbow would get you too around 400bhp however a gearbox oil cooler would be required and probably up-rated Clutch Plates too additionally a larger high capacity sump and racing fluid should also be considered.
The difference over the standard cars performance is most significant, the power gains really make best use of the SST Sports Bike like lightning quick gear changes and its most certainly a quicker car than the manual 5 speed FQ360 model.
